FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A woman who was allegedly shot by her son is improving at the hospital.

Police say Dolores Worledge was shot twice in the head while she slept at her Stedman home last month. Worledge is now listed in serious condition at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Cumberland County sheriff's officials say the investigation is mostly completed.

Cumberland County investigators have arrested her 17-year-old son, Kyle. He is being held in Cumberland County Jail under $500,000 bail on attempted first degree murder charges.
