RALEIGH, N.C. — Funeral services will be held this week after a accident in Johnston County took four young lives early Saturday morning.

The accident happened on Highway 1010, about a half-mile from the Cleveland Fire Department. Investigators say a Nissan Altima driven by 20-year-old Mickela Nicholson-Ray hydroplaned and hit a Jeep Cherokee head-on.

Nicholson-Ray, 18-year-old Marianne Dauscher, 18-year-old Stephen Car and 25-year-old Michael Layaou all died. Layaou was just weeks away from getting married.

"She'll never see my children. I'll never see hers. We'll never finish our goal of having our own apartment," said Jennifer Nicholson, Nicholson-Ray's sister.

"It's like losing a sister. I feel like I lost a part of myself," said Ashley Lambdin, Dauscher's friend.

The two people riding in the Jeep Cherokee were treated and released from WakeMed.

Carr and Dauscher will be buried Tuesday. Nicholson-Ray's funeral will be held Wednesday and Layauo's funeral will be held on Saturday.
