Students Injured In Johnston County Multi-Car Accident

Posted Updated

JOHNSTON COUNTY, N.C. — Six Johnston County high school students were treated for minor injuries after a multi-vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon.

The state Highway Patrol said the driver of a blue pickup truck failed to yield as they made a left-hand turn on Barber Mill Road.

As a result, a black pickup truck which was headed north swerved to avoid hitting the blue pickup truck, but hit a minvan as a result.

The minivan, which was carrying six students from Clayton High School, was traveling behind the blue pickup truck. The parent who was driving the minivan swerved after the initial accident, but had a head-on collision with another truck.

The students suffered minor injuries.

The driver of the blue pickup truck faces failure to yield charges.
