Harris Teeter Issues Voluntary Recall On Ground Beef Sold At Raleigh Store

RALEIGH, N.C. — Harris Teeter has issued a recall involving its ground beef.

The grocery store is voluntarily recalling 42 pounds of Harris Teeter premium ground beef and eight pounds of Harris Teeter Premier Selection Certified Angus Beef ground sirloin that was purchased at its Six Forks Road store in Raleigh on Tuesday, Aug. 20. The sell-by date on the package is 08/21/02. Officials believe the meat may be contaminated with E. coli.

No illnesses have been reported. Meat cooked thoroughly to a temperature of 160 degrees Fahrenheit poses no health risk.
