RALEIGH, N.C. — The ninth annual
Jimmy V Celebrity Golf Classic
brought nearly 18,000 spectators to the golf course to watch a little friendly competition for a good cause on Sunday.
Cary's Prestonwood Country Club hosted the annual tournament, which included appearances by 270 players and celebrities, including ESPN sportscaster Kenny Mayne.
Event organizers expect earnings to be consistent with previous years. In the past eight years, the annual golf tournament has donated an average of $1 million each year to
The V Foundation for Cancer Research
