FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police have made two more arrests in the beating of a Fayetteville man.
Marvin Wells, 75, was pistol-whipped last month as he walked to his car on July 31. Police said Wells happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.
Police said the suspects had just robbed a nearby Subway sandwich shop on Cliffdale Road.
Tuesday, Rodney Chak Bishop, 19, and Hugh Orlando Rolon, 16, were each charged with two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon and one count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.
They are being held in the Cumberland County Jail under a secured bond. Police said charges are also pending against both men for unrelated robberies.
Police captured Michael Ruffin, 17, at a nearby subdivision soon after the alleged assault.
Wells, a war veteran, remains hospitalized in serious condition.
