Search For Cumberland County Couple Continues

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. — Cumberland County authorities are searching for two people wanted for child abuse.

Deputies are s looking for Christy Innes and her boyfriend, James Barnhill.

Innes is charged with child neglect and Barnhill is accused of beating at least one of Innes' young sons.

They couple were spotted around 9:15 p.m. Tuesday in the Grays Creek area.

Deputies said the boys, ages 2 and 7, were turned over to a relative of Barnhill by the couple early Tuesday morning.

The sheriiff's office said the boys are safe, unharmed, and in the custody of their father.
