RALEIGH, N.C. — A Chatham County man who is accused of threatening to kill his family also faces animal cruelty charges.
Michael Alston, a former animal lab technician at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is in the Chatham County Jail on $25,000 bond.
Chatham County deputies believe Alston is also connected to the death of his mother's dog, although he has not been charged.
