Cobras Considering Move To Charlotte

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — The Carolina Cobras may slither to a new home next year. The arena football team is seriously considering a move to Charlotte next year.

Officials from the Entertainment and Sports Arena are making a strong pitch to keep the team in Raleigh.

Reports say team officials are looking at Charlotte because the team will not have to compete with the Carolina Hurriances and ACC basketball. Their lease at the ESA runs out this week.

On Sunday, the Cobras defeated defending champion Grand Rapids Rampage 72-64 to advance to the quarterfinals against the Arizona Rattlers.

Team officials could make a decision as early as next week.
