Plans For Raleigh's Five Points Development Scaled Back

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — The developers of the controversial Bickett Place project are scaling back their plans.

During a meeting with residents of Raleigh's Five Points community Monday evening, developers showed off new plans for 12 single-family homes.

The original plan called for a set of 16 condominiums on two acres of land in the Roanoke Park section of Five Points.

Residents opposed to that plan said they were concerned the development would ruin the historic neighborhood.

The name of the development has also changed from Bickett Place to the Village at Five Points.

A public hearing on the new proposal is schedule for August 6.
