Tarrytown Clock Tower To Be Moved To Nearby Park

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — A historic symbol of progress in Rocky Mount is moving to a new home.

The city is moving the old clock tower from Tarrytown Mall to Sunset Park, located about one-quarter mile away.

Tarrytown Mall was filled with water during Hurricane Floyd and has sat empty ever since. It was the first mall in North Carolina east of Charlotte.

The building will be torn down later this year.
