Man Arrested For Allegedly Writing Bogus Checks

Posted Updated

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham County investigators have arrested 22-year-old Sedric Hunt for allegedly passing more than $30,000 worth of fake checks.

Investigators said Hunt used a laptop computer and scanner to print fake company checks and used a stolen account number to make the deal seem legitimate.

Investigators said Hunt also made up his own fake license to cash the checks. They believe Hunt pawned the checks at convenience stores and banks in Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill.

Anyone who may have received one of the bogus checks is asked to contact the Durham County Sheriff's Office.
