PETA Gets Involved In Rocky Mount Animal Cruelty Case

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — The group, People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), is getting involved in a case of animal cruelty in Rocky Mount.

In May, Cagney, a blue tick coon hound, was set on fire. Three teenagers were charged with animal cruelty.

PETA sent a letter to the district attorney's office, asking officials to vigorously prosecute the defendants.

The animal rights group wants the teenagers to get jail time and receive psychiatric help.
