Wilson Teens Charged In Nash County Ecstasy Bust

Officials seized a total of more than 950 pills with a street value of $35,000.

Ricky Watson Jr., 19, of Wilson, and Daniel Wallace, 18, of Wilson, were arrested Friday.

Watson is being held on a $400,000 secured bond. He faces a total of 9 counts of four different trafficking chargesas well as one count of conspiracy to traffic Ecstasy.

Wallace is being held on a $140,000 secured bond. He faces two trafficking charges, conspiracy to traffic Ecstasy and maintaining a vehicle for the purpose of keeping or storing a controlled substance.

Undercover agents said they bought pills from the teens on two occasions.

Nash County Sheriff Jimmy Grimes said Ecstasy is becoming a more common drug throughout the community and the public needs to be aware of its presence and its dangers.

"It's a up and coming problem. You hear about with it more with younger college kids -- they're using it more than anyone else. And certainly anytime it's youth involved in anything we stop and and educate the youth," he said.

Rocky Mount, Wilson and Kinston police, the Dare County Sheriff's Office, the N.C. National Guard Counter-drug Task Force and the N.C. Dept. of Revenue Controlled Sunbstance Division were involved in the investigation.
