Police: Alcohol May Have Played Role In Weekend Wreck

Posted Updated

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Police say alcohol played a role in a weekend car accident that killed two Fort Bragg soldiers.

A car carrying four people veered off the All-American Freeway early Saturday morning in Fayetteville.

Edison Wingate and Sara Case died in the accident. Two other soldiers in the car survived.

Authorities say Wingate had been drinking, but they do not know how much. They are waiting until toxicology tests are completed.

Police also said speed was a factor in the accident.
