RALEIGH, N.C. — On Friday, Raleigh police arrested Christopher Campen on peeping charges at the Governor's Point apartment complex.
The complex is located across the lake from the Bridgeport Apartments, where 24-year-old Stephanie Bennett was murdered two weeks ago.
Police are not calling Campen a suspect in the murder, but they are following up on leads. Campen has been arrested on peeping and other charges before, including a 1998 conviction for misdemeanor stalking.
Police are also planning a public safety meeting for people living in the Lake Lynn area, in response to a recent series of crimes.
That safety meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, June 24 at the Tabernacle Baptist Church on Leesville Road.
