Chapel Hill School Gets Added Security

Posted Updated

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — An off-duty police officer is now patrolling a Chapel Hill elementary school where a student was almost kidnapped last Wednesday.

Police said a man attempted to abduct the fifth grade girl from Frank Porter Graham Elementary while she walked from the cafeteria to her classroom.

Officials said they have received tips from across the state, and have identified several suspects.

Parents asked for extra security at the school during a meeting there Monday.
