Hundreds of people were waiting at the box office at the Entertainment and Sports Arena to get their hands on the hot tickets for the next round.
"Some people are soccer moms. Well, we are hockey moms," fan Stephanie Pierrehumbert said as she waited in line.
Around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, hundreds of fans waited at RDU International for the Carolina Hurricanes as they returned to Raleigh after their trip in Montreal.
Some fans are willing to shed some big bucks to watch the team in the playoffs. Neil Wells picked up tickets Monday for the rest of the Canes' playoff home games. He said while his seats are not the best ones in the arena, he is glad to be part of Hurricanes' hysteria.
"It's intense hockey. There is no tomorrow. The price is right. I have a great time. It's worth it," he said.
There are still seats available in every section of the ESA. Ticket prices range from $40 to $250.
For some fans, watching Monday night's game at home just was not enough. About 3,000 people watched the game on the Jumbotron at the ESA. Admission and parking were free.
The Carolina Hurricanes will play either the Ottawa Senators or the Toronto Maple Leafs in the Eastern Conference finals. The Hurricanes will have home-ice advantage.
