— Emelia Noa is desperate to find out what happened to her 23-year-old sister, Sophia Hanchett.

"She's an artist. She's a dreamer. She's pretty. She's just the best sister in the world," Noa said Thursday.

Noa said she last spoke to Hanchett on the phone Monday evening. Hanchett said she was in the Cross Creek Mall parking lot waiting for someone interested in purchasing one of her portraits.

"I didn't get any negative reading from her. I just felt it was routine. I looked forward to seeing her afterward, but she never came home," Noa said.

On Tuesday night, Hanchett missed a family dinner she had planned in honor of her brother who was about to leave for military training, Noa said.

Noa says the person her sister was meeting could have been someone she met on Craigslist, where Hanchett would often sell her art.

Noa said it is unlike her sister not to e-mail, text or return repeated phone calls from her and other family members.

"I'm praying for an optimistic outcome, but I also have to be strong to handle anything that happens," Noa said.

Anyone with information about Hanchett's whereabouts should call police at 910-433-1856 or Crime Stoppers at 910-483-8477.

Please someone listen to our pleas...the missing Fayetteville Woman, Sophia Hanchett has come to VA to kidnap her three children from their father who is the custodial parent. We have warned the courts and law authorities about her in the past only to be ignored...Please do not ignore us anymore...I called CPS in SC to report her for child abuse and neglect only to be told I was being vindictive weeks later the family doctor called CPS to report his findings. We asked the court that she only be granted supervised visitation because we felt she was a flight risk given her history of just leaving for no apparent reason, the court denied our request and she ended up taking them out of state against court orders...Now she is stalking the father...Someone do something!!!!

I pray she is ok. As women, we have to very careful about meeting people we never have met before. Women are more of a target than a man. If you are using Craigslist or any type of dating sites to meet new people, please please be careful and always tell someone where you are going and who the person is you are meeting.

I'm worried about what may have happened to this beautiful young mother. I hope she was visible by a mall parking lot camera! It's so important to take every precaution whenever meeting someone you've connected with on Craigslist or any of its likes. This doesn't sound good. My thoughts and prayers are with her and her family.

It seems you are hearing more and more about problems with Craigslist. I know it may just be me but I just don't trust it. People are so crazy today. I pray this beautiful young woman is found safe and well. Many prayers to her family as well.

why would you make that comment about Fayetteville? The news media ALWAYS highlights the negative and not the good. Unless you live in Fayetteville you have no idea how many good things that do go on here. The main intent of this article was to find out where she is and hopefully someone has seen her. Let's concentrate on the person and NOT the city.

If someone is intersted in purchasing art, it is done in a legit venue! I so not know what it will take to make people understand the predatory nature of the internet.
