The man who allegedly hit and killed a Nash County woman is out of jail, just hours after his arrest.

Dale Rose, 43, of Franklin County, turned himself in to authorities Thursday afternoon, and was later released on $5,000 bond.

Authorities believe Rose hit Sharon Coley, 47, who died Tuesday night after she was hit while walking along Harrison Road in Nashville.

Rose told WRAL that he did not know he had hit anyone until he heard about it on the news Tuesday night.

Coley's family members told WRAL that they are glad he came forward. Coley's funeral is set for Saturday.
