CARY, N.C. — A Cary couple is embroiled in a neighborhood dispute over their dogs.
Judi and Mike Pierce fought Cary's two-dog limit last year and won. They are now fighting the Preston Village Homeowner's Association.
The homeowners' association has filed a lawsuit against the couple for violating the neighborhood's three-dog limit.
"They've ostracized us. None of the neighbors will even look at us," Judi said. "No one wants to get involved, and we just want the public to be aware that this can happen to you."
The Pierces have nine dogs and several cats. They say their animals are not a nuisance to neighbors.
The Pierces said that they are so frustrated with the situation that they have decided to sell their home.
