RALEIGH, N.C. — Police have a man in custody for an attempted attack at a popular Raleigh park on Wednesday.
Jeremiah Dubois faces charges of second-degree attempted rape and kidnapping in the incident at Lake Lynn. Dubois has a prior record, including a misdemeanor stalking conviction.
Police said a woman walking around the greenway around noon was grabbed from behind by Dubois. The victim told investigators that Dubois then tried to drag her into the woods.
"That would not be unheard of. We have had past cases of daylight assaults in Raleigh," said Lt. Chris Morgan of the Raleigh Police Department.
Police said they have begun looking into any connection Dubois may have to similar cases in the area.
There are places at Lake Lynn where visitors can call for help. Police said the victim in this case escaped from Dubois and ran to a community center.
