CARY, N.C. — Cary police have charged a massage therapist with inappropriately touching a client during a session.
John-Peter Hopperger, 54, is charged with a second-degree sex offense. Investigators said he touched a woman in her private area against her will during a session at a chiropractor's office in Cary's Crossroads Shopping Center.
Hopperger, a licensed therapist, had worked at the office for six years.
"In this case, we have a lot of information that's clear at this point from our investigation that this man carried out this behavior," said Lt. Chris Hoina of the Cary Police Department.
Hopperger has no criminal record. If convicted of this charge, he could face up to 10 years in prison.
