RALEIGH, N.C. — A new medical facility opened Monday desgiend to help residents in one of the fastest growing areas of Wake County.
WakeMed North, located on Falls of Neuse Road near Interstate 540, will provide emergency services and other medical procedures that, at one time, were only performed at hospitals in the city.
"This gives this area of the county the ability to access WakeMed services without having to go to our New Bern Avenue campus, Cary campus or Clayton campus. We are right here in their back yard," executive director Carolyn Knaup said.
The new facility cost $34 million and includes physical rehabilitation office and four outpatient operating rooms.
