RALEIGH, N.C. — The heart of the Triangle area is under the microscope this week.
A design team Monday toured a 60-mile planning area surrounding RDU International Airport. It is part of a four-day workshop for the new Center of the Region Enterprise (CORE).
Local government leaders will discuss issues like transportation and housing. The design team toured Carpenter Village near Morrisville as a good example of mixed-use developments.
"Carpenter Village (is) an excellent example of a type of community we don't have a lot of, where we kind of mix the different activities together in closer proximity, is especially interesting," CORE director John Hodges-Copple said.
The two-hour workshop begins 7 p.m. Monday at the RDU Airport Authority Building. Sessions will continue through Thursday. They are free and open to the public.
