Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski announced that forward Mike Dunleavy and guard Chris Duhon were named team captains for the 2002-03 season. Dunleavy will serve as a captain for the second consecutive season.

Dunleavy, a first team All-America selection this season by Basketball Times and the NABC, averaged 17.3 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 2.3 steals per game. The versatile Dunleavy earned second team All-America honors by the Associated Press and USBWA. One of only six players in the nation to receive votes for the 2002 AP National Player of the Year Award, he was also named Swing Forward of the Year by ESPN the Magazine last week. Dunleavy was also a second team Academic All-America and first team All-ACC pick in 2001-02. He becomes the 18th two-time team captain in Duke basketball history.

One of the nation's top defenders, Duhon averaged 8.9 points, 3.1 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 2.3 steals in 2001-02. The Slidell, La., native led the team in assists (208) and steals (81) as a sophomore. He was an ACC All-Defensive Team selection by both the coaches and the media in 2001-02. Named to the 2002 ACC All-Tournament second team, Duhon was an honorable mention All-ACC performer in 2001-02.

Dunleavy will be a senior at Duke next season, while Duhon will be a junior.
