DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are trying to figure out what caused a multi-car accident near a busy intersection Monday night.
Campus police said the brakes failed on a Domino's Pizza tractor-trailer at Erwin Road near Research Drive, but Durham police are still investigating whether that was in fact the cause of the pile-up .
The tractor-trailer hit another vehicle, leading to a chain reaction in which several other cars were hit.
At least seven people were injured, including one infant, but none seriously. They were taken to Duke Hospital and to Durham Regional Hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
