WAYNE COUNTY, N.C. — A bulletproof vest is a lifesaver for many law enforcement officers. Wayne County's crime-fighting canine is now getting the same type of protection.
Emmy, Wayne County's newest K-9 cop, just received her own bulletproof vest from a family in Goldsboro.
Officers said criminals occasionally shoot at animals, so the vest is designed to protect their four-legged partners.
The vest costs about $1,000.
