HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. — The Orange County Sheriff's Office has obtained warrants against the man they believe killed two people and injured another on Monday.

The warrants name Robert "Peanut" Gattis, 38, as a suspect in the murder of James Long and Nicholas Whitted and the attempted murder of Terrence Brooks.

The men, who were playing poker in a Hillsborough garage on Coleman Loop Road, were shot by a masked gunman during an apparent robbery attempt.

Officials said Gattis should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at (919) 644-3050 or (919) 942-6300.
