Search Continues For Gunman In Hillsborough Triple Shooting

e-mail print friendly

Authorities in Orange County are looking for a suspect in an early Monday morning triple shooting.

Authorities said a lone gunman came into a garage behind Folks Inc., located at 1614 Coleman Loop Road just off Highway 86, in Hillsborough and robbed the people inside sometime around 4 a.m.

Eight people were in the building playing cards when a suspect with a mask and a shotgun came in and ordered everyone to get on the floor. Authorities said after people got on the floor, the suspect started shooting.

The man then took the money from the poker table and left the scene. James Edward Long, 59, of Hillsborough and Nicholas Whitted, 26, of Hillsborough both died in the incident. Terry Brooks, owner of the business, was injured in the incident. He is listed in good condition at a local hospital.

Shawn Marshall, whose uncle died in the incident, said he had a premonition that something bad might happen to his uncle.

"I had a dream about it two days ago and just talked to him yesterday. I told him not to come out here," he said.

Authorities are searching for the gunman.
