WAKE COUNTY, N.C. — One of the busiest stretches of Interstate 40 has been moved up on the priority list for getting additional lanes.
Wake County planners want to widen I-40 between Crossroads Plaza in Cary and Wade Avenue in Raleigh.
The Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization prioritizes its road wish list every two years. The Wake County widening project is now number three on that list.
The planning organization will vote on the recommendations in April.
