Investigators Suspect Link In Harnett County Warehouse Fires

Posted Updated

HARNETT COUNTY, N.C. — Fire investigators in Harnett County believe that there may be a link between two recent warehouse fires.

Sunday night, a fire at a former candy warehouse caused $640,000 worth of damage.

More than 25 fire trucks from 10 departments were called to battle the blaze north of Dunn on U.S. 301.

The building, which was destroyed, was currently being used by H and H Products, a janitorial supply company.

Investigators are still trying to determine whether a December fire that damaged three downtown businesses and caused $3 million in damage was intentionally set.

The fire happened at the Heritage Concrete Company, previously known as Warren Oil Company, just off Highway 301.

The cause of that fire was never determined, but arson is suspected.

Investigators say there are similarities between the two fires.
