Traffic Changes To Take Effect At RDU International

Posted Updated

RDU INTERNATIONAL — Beginning Saturday, traffic entering the parking decks between Terminals A and C at

RDU International

will be rerouted to accommodate construction of the airport's 6,150-space parking garage.

The traffic pattern includes new entrances to terminal area parking and the temporary relocation of the exit plaza.

Passengers parking at the airport will see the following changes:

  • The hourly parking entrance will now be located adjacent to Terminal A and will serve both terminals. There will be no hourly parking entrance adjacent to Terminal C.
  • The entrance for Terminal C daily parking will be located only on the baggage claim level of the Terminal C parking decks.
  • The exit cashier plaza has been moved from the south end of the terminal area parking to the north end across from Terminal A extension. All traffic leaving the terminal parking facility will exit through this plaza.
  • Electronic signs will direct passengers to the appropriate parking areas.

No other traffic changes are anticipated until the garage opens in late fall 2003. As a result, customer inconvenience due to construction will be minimized.

Passengers are reminded that the cost for daily parking is $1 per hour not to exceed $8 per 24-hour period. Hourly parking is $1 per hour and $24 per 24-hour period.
