State Puts Brakes On Virtual Charter School

GRANVILLE COUNTY, N.C. — It looks like the state has put the brakes on a virtual charter school in Granville County.
New Connections Academy in Oxford was hoping to get one of the three available charters, but on Thursday, the state board of education released their picks and the virtual school was not one of them.
However, it was not entirely rejected, which means it could still be considered if one of the charters already taken is dropped before March 15.
