North Raleigh Accident Causes Injuries, Slows Morning Commute

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, NC — An early morning accident at the intersection of Sandy Forks and Falls Of Neuse Road has injured four people and slowed the morning commute in that area.

Officials on the scene say that three cars were involved, and four people were taken to the hospital.

The accident happened at the heavily-traveled intersection just before 7 a.m. when, officials say, a Jeep heading south on Falls of Neuse crossed the center line and clipped a Toyota Forerunner. The Jeep then crashed head-on into a car.

The driver of the Jeep and the driver of the car were pinned into their vehicles, but rescue teams say both are stable with non-critical injuries. The injuries to the driver and passenger in the Forerunner were also said to be non-critical.

Traffic is moving again in the area, and no more back-ups are expected as drivers continue to head to work.
