CLAYTON, N.C. — The Johnston County Sheriff's Office charged a Clayton man in a mortgage-finance deal that has created a legal nightmare for a young couple.
Craig Logue, 44, is accused of obtaining property by false pretense. Tanya and Bryce Woodell were not listed as the owners of the land and mobile home they had been living in for 12 months.
The Woodells said they bought the property from Logue, who financed the mortgage and drew up the documents himself.
Logue told WRAL his lawyers were still working out the details of the year-old mortgage contract, and he fully intends to turn the title over to the Woodells.
