Army Dress Code Gets A Makeover

The United States Army has made the first update to its dress code in a decade.

Corn rows and braided hair styles are now allowed for female soldiers, but unnatural hair colors are not. Nail color is limited, too. Female soldier are required to stick with natural colors that compliment their skintone.

"The emphasis is on anything that's bright, anything that stands out, anything that distracts from the uniform," MSGT Valerie O'Connor of COSCOM said.

The new rules also talk about eye color, too. Colored contact lenses are not allowed.

Baldness is now authorized for men, and soldiers are limited to carrying only one electronic device, cell phone or pager.
