RALEIGH — Cleaning up after the snowstorm was a lot more complicated at the Northstone Apartments on Sunday. Maintenance crews cleared out carpet, insulation, and other debris after the ceilings in some third-floor units caved in.
Property managers blame the snow and rain for the collapse and are not sure how many units are affected. It could be as many as 20 in six different buildings. They are offering residents vacant apartments until they can clean and repair the damage. But some folks say this just does not feel like home, sweet, home anymore.
The Northstone Apartments were built less than two years ago, and some residents suspect shoddy construction is also to blame for the collapse.
