Triangle Woodworkers Create Thousands of Toys For Tots

Posted Updated

RALEIGH — As toys on store shelves become more advanced every year, some local woodworkers hope their simple toys win kids over this Christmas.

Members of the

Triangle Woodworkers Association

have made everything from airplanes to teddy bears to doll cradles.

This year, the members worked hundreds of hours to craft more than 3,000 wooden toys by hand.

The toys are donated to the Marine Corps Reserve's Toys For Tots program.

The woodworkers have been making the toys, and bringing smiles to the children who receive them, for 13 years.
