Cumberland County Investigating Attempted Kidnapping At School Bus Stop

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. — The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office is investigating the attempted kidnapping of a 10-year-old girl from a school bus stop Monday morning.

Officials said that the incident happened at the intersection of Tammy and Charlie streets in Cumberland County at 7:15 a.m.

According to authorities, the suspect pulled up to the bus stop where the girl was standing alone waiting for a school bus. The suspect got out of the vehicle, opened the back door and grabbed the girl by the arm. She managed to break free and ran home.

The suspect was driving an older model, large, cream-colored, four-door car.

He is described as being in his early 30s, of medium height, with a slender build, full head of hair, dark blonde to light brown in color, with a mustache and goatee. He was wearing a gray and white jacket with dark gray slacks.
