Midway Airlines Awaits Funds, Remains Grounded

Posted Updated

RALEIGH, N.C. — It is unlikely Midway Airlines will get back into the air by Saturday, the target date set by CEO Robert Ferguson.

The bankrupt company quit flying altogether on Sept. 12, the day after the terrorist attacks.

The Department of Transportation has not announced whether Midway will get any of the requested $40 million in grants and loans.

However, the airline has begun talks to hire back some pilots if it gets the money.
