CARY, NC — String tied around your finger can help jog your memory, and that is the idea behind some new bracelets bearing the names of Sept. 11 victims.
The
Mercy Band
was born at the Calvary Chapel in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where the pastor's wife had the idea to create the bracelets as a reminder to pray for each victim's family.
Pastor Rodney Finch of
Calvary Chapel in Cary
served as a Red Cross Chaplain at New York's Ground Zero, "and having dong that I know there is a great need for God to comfort these people," he says.
"It's just an awful, awful, unbelievable loss that many of us will never experience," Finch says.
Finch's church sells the bands to cover costs. Any leftover money goes to victim's families.
