Posted Updated

RALEIGH — Even though Thanksgiving is a week away, the city of Raleigh is ready to ring in the holiday season.

WRAL-TV and the Greater Raleigh Merchants Association present the 57th Annual Raleigh Christmas Parade Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon.

This year, there will be 23 bands, 48 floats, 50 other fun entries, plus, a visit from Santa Claus.

WRAL's Pam Saulsby, Debra Morgan and David Crabtree will be there as well, hosting WRAL's live coverage, which will be broadcast in high definition beginning at 10 a.m.

The parade starts at the intersection of Hillsborough and St. Mary's streets. It travels down Hillsborough Street to the State Capitol, turns right onto Salisbury Street and ends at Lenoir Street.
