Durham Mayor's Race Too Close To Call

Posted Updated

DURHAM — The Durham mayor's race is too close to call.

Challenger Bill Bell leads incumbent Mayor Nick Tennyson by about 300 votes.

Both men were at the Old County Courthouse when the final numbers came in Tuesday evening.

The Durham County Board of Elections said that there could be as many as 300-400 provision ballots still uncounted.

Those ballots will be counted and an official result is expected to be announced Friday morning.
