Posted November 2, 2001
DURHAM COUNTY, N.C. — The North Carolina Department of Transportation will temporarily close N.C. 147 South at Alston Avenue in Durham.
The closing will begin at 9 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5 and will remain in effect until 5 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, weather permitting.
Motorists are asked to use a detour exit at Alston Avenue, and police will direct traffic through the detour while providing information to motorists.
The closing is necessary to make repairs caused when the bridge was struck by a tractor-trailer on Oct. 15.
