Human Bones Found At Fort Bragg Identified

FORT BRAGG — Human remains found on Fort Bragg on July 28 have been positively identified as those of a black female.

The woman, Cynthia Yeater of Spring Lake, had been missing since 1997. She was 38 at the time of her disappearance.

Yeater's remains were identified by the Armed Forces Medical Examiner's Office at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in Rockville, Md.

Fort Bragg Criminal Investigation Command, Fayetteville FBI and the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office are continuing a joint investigation of the case.
