Wake Study Team Presents Efficiency Recommendations

— When it comes to building and maintaining county buildings, Wake school leaders and commissioners often have an annual clash.

Schools have one system and the rest of the county often uses a different strategy to build public structures.

On Wednesday, a study team formed to find ways to be more efficient presented ideas to the joint boards.

  • The study team decided not to recommend a public building authority to oversee school and county construction. The team says it adds bureaucracy and takes away accountability to voters.
