More Local Reserve, National Guard Units Called Up

FAYETTEVILLE — Eighteen reservists from Fayetteville involved in Training Support are among the additional 1,722 Army reservists and Army National Guardmembers being called to active duty Tuesday as part of thepartial mobilization authorized by President Bush.

The total number of Army reserve force soldiers called to active duty is now at 11,304.

The soldiers called to active duty in this call-up serve in35 different units from 16 states and Puerto Rico. Among thespecialties represented by these units are infantry and trainingsupport.

At any given time, services may mobilize some units andindividuals while demobilizing others, making it is possible forthese figures to either increase or decrease.
