Top-Notch Chefs Head To Durham To Raise Money For NYC Victims

Posted Updated

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham is quickly becoming known as a top culinary city in the South. A benefit dinner Sunday night should bolster the Bull City's image.

Seven of the best chefs in the country will be working in the kitchen at Four Square Restaurant in Durham. All of the money raised will go to victims' families of the Sept. 11 attacks in New York.

Locally grown food and wines were donated from companies across the Triangle. The restaurant owners hope the $250-per-person meal and a silent auction will raise close to $50,000.

The 7-course meal is expected to include:

  • Buffalo tenderloin
  • Asian spiced quail
  • Barbecued duck
  • Apple pie with butter pecan ice cream and caramel sauce for dessert
