Two Goldsboro Police Officers Arrested In Separate Incidents

GOLDSBORO — The State Bureau of Investigation has arrested two members of the Goldsboro Police Department.
Patrol Officer Stephen Franklin Parks, 33, is charged with having sex with a 15-year-old in Lenoir County. He is charged with statutory rape. Within the last month, he had been suspended without pay.
In another case, Jerry Lee Exum, an investigator with city police, was charged with assaulting a female and resisting a public officer. He was also suspended without pay earlier this month.
Bond for Parks was set at $100,000 by a Lenoir County magistrate. Exum, who was charged in Wayne County, is being held on a $30,000 secured bond.
